Exploring Mac operating system
Overview
Exploring the Mac operating System provides a user-friendly experience. Here we will navigate through the system by accessing the administrator account to create directories, accounts, and manage different settings. We will also access the preferences and hardware components.

Section 1: Exploring Accounts
Log into your Mac using your administrator account.
Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups
Click the lock to make changes (lower left corner).
Create a new standard account, and complete the required information.
Section 2: Exploring Systems Preferences
Go to System Preferences.
-How did you get there? Access the System Preferences by clicking the search icon located on top right corner. The System Preferences can be accessed many ways, for example, can create a shortcut on the dock, use Siri by voice command, or click on the Apple logo located on the top-left of the screen.
2. System Preferences > Trackpad. Go to More Gestures tabExplore all the setting you can enable, disable, and change. -What does the Launchpad gesture do? The Launchpad gesture change the settings on the trackpad. -What does the Show Desktop gesture do? The Show Desktop gesture clears files and websites from the screen. Click the Show All button to go back.
3. System Preferences > Extensions. Click on the ? in lower right corner. -What are extensions used for in the macOS? The extensions used for the MacOs System Preferences enable/disable Apple and third
-party extensions. Markup Mac extension can add functionality to apps or to the finder.
Click the Show All button to go back.Keep System Preferences open and click on different icons and explore the settings.
Section 3: Exploring Directory and Network Utility
Tap the Command key and space bar at the same time.
Type Directory Utility > hit Enter.
With Directory Utility open, click the lock to make changes.
Go to the Edit menu.
Select Enable Root User.
Type a password and do not forget it. It can be the same as your user password.
Close Directory Utility.
